An Angel's Kiss

We go through life so often,
Not stopping to enjoy the day.
And we take each one for granted,
As we travel on our way.

For in your pain and sorrow,
An Angel's Kiss will help you through,
This kiss is very private,
For it is meant for only you.

We never stop to measure,
Anything we just might miss.
But if the wind should blow by softly,
You'll feel an Angel's Kiss.

A kiss that is sent from heaven,
A kiss from up above
A kiss that is very special,
From someone that you love.

So when, your hearts are heavy,
And filled with tears and pain.
And no one can console you,
Remember once again.

About the ones you grieve for,
Because you sadly miss.
And the gentle breeze you took for granted,
Was just an Angel's Kiss.

Footprints In Our Hearts

How could fifteen years go by so quickly
Since the day we brought you home
You cuddled up so close to me
so you wouldn't feel alone

Today, you went to doggie heaven
now you have so many friends
There's no one there to rule you now
and your dog days will never end

We see your footprints in the garden
We feel your presence everywhere
We look for you when we come home
But you are never there

We call your name but you don't hear us
Are you playing Hide and Seek??
Is it time to go out walking?
Or do you want your doggie treats?

The happiness that you gave us
We cannot count the ways
We can measure all the pleasures
That you gave us everyday

Your footprints in the garden
Will fade away and fall apart
But the footprints that you left us
Will live forever in our hearts

Rainbow Bridge

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.

It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors.

Just this side of the rainbow bridge is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place

There is always food and water and warm spring weather.

The old and frail animals are young again.

Those who are maimed are made whole again.

They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing.

They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!

The nose twitches! The ears are up!The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group.

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace.

Your face is kissed again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

A Loan from God

God promised at the birth of time,
A special friend to give,
His time on earth is short, he said,
So love him while he lives.

It may be six or seven years,
Or twelve or then sixteen,
But will you, till I call him back,
Take care of him for me?

A wagging tail and cold wet nose,
And silken velvet ears,
A heart as big as all outdoors,
To love you through the years.

His puppy ways will gladden you,
And antics bring a smile,
As guardian or friend he will,
Be loyal all the while.

He'll bring his charms to grace your life,
And though his stay be brief,
When he's gone the memories,
Are solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But lessons only a dog can teach,
I want you each to learn.

Whatever love you give to him,
Returns in triple measure,
Follow his lead and gain a life,
Brim full of simple pleasure.

Enjoy each day as it comes,
Allow your heart to guide,
Be loyal and steadfast in love,
As the dog there by your side.

Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call,
To take him back again?

I fancy each of us would say,
"Dear Lord, thy will be done,
For all the joy this dog shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll run.

"We'll shelter him with tenderness,
We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known,
Forever grateful stay.

"But shall the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
And try to understand."

Saying Goodbye

Endless seeds of sorrow
have been planted in my heart.
They've taken root and sprouted
at the thought of us apart.

But as my tears of sadness
cause those tiny seeds to grow,
I know one day they'll blossom
into memories - row on row.
